The Mood Disorders Clinic specializes in the evaluation and treatment of mood disorders-bipolar disorder, 重度抑郁症, 心境恶劣障碍. 我们提供评估, 第二个意见, consultations and ongoing psychopharmacological management of these disorders. 不幸的是, we do not provide psychotherapy but will help facilitate psychotherapy by therapists outside the clinic. The clinic is staffed by senior residents in psychiatry, Fellows (who have already finished their residency) and faculty. Patients seen by a resident will also be seen by a faculty member at every visit. Fellows see patients independently (i.e., without a faculty member).All care is reviewed by Dr. 迈克尔·吉特林，m.mood Disorders Clinic Director on a weekly basis. A number of research studies in mood disorders recruit from the Mood Disorders Clinic. 然而, participation in these studies is entirely voluntary and will not impact on any patient’s care in the clinic.

迈克尔·吉特林，m.m.D., Distinguished Professor of Clinical 精神病学, Director
Dr. Gitlin is Professor of Clinical 精神病学 at the UCLA 医学院. He is currently the Director of the 成人 Division and Director of the Mood Disorders Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital. He is the author of many scientific articles and book chapters as well as two editions of a solo authored psychopharmacology textbook written for nonphysician therapists entitled The Psychotherapist's Guide to Psychopharmacology published by the Free Press. He recently coauthored a book entitled Psychotropic Drugs and Women with Dr. 维多利亚亨德里克. He served as Chief of Staff at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital from 1997-1999. His recent awards include: Distinguished Educator Award in Teaching from the UCLA Department of 精神病学 in 1999, the UCLA Department of 精神病学 Outstanding Housestaff Teaching Award in 1994, the Distinguished Service Award from the Southern California Psychiatric Society in 1995 and was named Psychiatric Times Teacher of the Year in 2002. He has also won the award for the best Internal Medicine Board Review Course in the area of psychiatry from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Ariel Seroussi, m.s.D., Assistant Clinical Professor of 精神病学, Associate Director
Ariel Seroussi, m.sD, is a faculty member in the UCLA Department of 精神病学. He is the medical director for psychiatric emergency services at UCLA, and works as an acute care psychiatrist in the emergency department and inpatient settings. Dr. Seroussi also sees patients in his outpatient practice, and is an attending physician in the UCLA Mood Disorders Clinic. He has worked in clinical informatics projects seeking to improve patient care and physician efficiency, and developed an electronic system for filing involuntary holds in psychiatry, approved by LA County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Seroussi also works for the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge, a campus-wide initiative to transform research on depression and delivery of care. Dr. Seroussi graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley with a BA in Psychology. He then worked in bench research in affective and addiction neuroscience at UCSF's Ernest Gallo Clinic & Research Center for two years, serving as laboratory manager in the Howard Fields Lab. Dr. Seroussi graduated with an MD from UCSF, and completed his residency in psychiatry at UCLA. He is certified as a diplomate in 精神病学 by the American Board of 精神病学 and Neurology.
